INCANDESCENCE PERIOD OF ELECTRIC LAMPS

When calculating the effective intensity of a rhythmic electric light interrupted by opening the filament lamp circuit, the light duration is considered to be the period during which the circuit remains closed, plus the time required for the filament to reach 90% of its full intensity. Incandescence is assumed to occur instantaneously at extreme range. The allowance can be determined directly from the graph when the circuit resistance is negligible compared to the resistance of the hot filament.
