LED tubes replace fluorescent T8 and T5 tubes in battens, troffers and office fittings, using roughly half the power and lasting far longer. The key question is what is inside your fitting. If it has a magnetic ballast, a ballast-compatible LED tube can simply replace the fluorescent tube and starter. If it has an electronic ballast, check the tube's compatibility list, or remove the ballast and use a mains-direct tube.
