Ledvance Powerstar® HQ-E® Metal Halide Lamp, GES/E40 Base

Introducing the Ledvance Powerstar® 400 W metal halide lamp, which produces a high lumen output of 34,000 lm. With an E40 screw base, it provides a quick fitment and replacement. Excellent colour rendering of 92 ensures this lamp is great for environments you need good colour identification. A UV filter prevents the discolouration of items when using this lamp. The Powerstar® HQ-E® has a long average lifetime of 12,000 hours, making them economical and reducing the maintenance costs for the future.

FAQ's

Can Metal Halide lamps be used outdoors?

Yes, the surrounding temperatures don't really have any impact on how the lamp performs, making it very versatile.

Are Metal Halide lamps more economical than incandescent lamps?

Yes, compared to incandescent bulbs and other older technologies, metal halide bulbs use less energy, whilst offering a luminous efficiency. Metal Halide lamps can last up to 10 times longer than traditional incandescent lamps.

Note

These lamps require 2 to 10 minutes to cool before re-striking, but shorter times are possible if installed in fittings with high voltage ignitor circuits.
Care must be taken NOT to touch the glass surface of the lamp during installation.

Metal Halide

These lamps produce a clear white light and are suitable for display or floodlighting, where the heat output from tungsten halogen lamps would create a problem. Metal Halide Lamps have an efficiency approx. 4 times higher than halogen lamps and xenon lamps. In addition, the short-arc type is similar to a point light source, making optical design easy. As their colour temperature characteristics are similar to daylight colour, exact colours (RGB) can be reproduced. They can also be used for both high bay and low bay applications.,Compared to High Pressure Mercury lamps, Metal Halide lamps offer greater efficiencies and, compared to high pressure sodium (SON) lamps, they have similar advantages, but have different output characteristics. A disadvantage of metal halide lamps, when compared to SON lamps, is that they have a shorter service life.
