These switches support different wire lengths and contact combinations for various operational requirements. Models for wire lengths up to 50m offer 1 NO + 1 NC or 2 NC contacts. In addition, models for wire lengths up to 75m include 1 NO + 3 NC contacts. Switches for wire lengths of 2 × 75m and conveyor belt unbalance trackers include 2 NO + 2 NC contacts.

LED Indicator Function

Siemens also offers grab wire switches and conveyor belt unbalance trackers with a factory-fitted red LED indicator light (24V DC). The LED uses advanced onboard chip technology to display the operating status clearly from distances of up to 50m. Therefore, operators can monitor switch conditions quickly and easily in large industrial areas.

Safety and Operating Function

The NC contacts in the grab wire switch and conveyor belt unbalance tracker use a positive opening mechanism for improved operational safety. Moreover, grab wire switches with one-sided operation stay in the free position through the pre-tension applied on the turnbuckle.

In the Siemens 3SE7 140 and 3SE7 150 grab wire switches, both switching contacts support wire-break and wire-pull signaling. Additionally, users can use the NO contact for signaling applications. For interlocking models, operators must first release the locking mechanism before returning the switch to its original position when the wire remains under tension.

Construction and Standards

These switches include positive latching and positive NC contacts, which make them suitable for emergency stop devices according to EN ISO 13850 standards. Furthermore, the switches support applications up to Category 4 according to EN 954-1, which ensures a high level of safety performance.
